L.A Girl Pro HD Illuminating Foundation

I love trying new foundations and when I found out there was an affordable one on the market, I immediately bought it. This is the L.A Girl Pro Coverage HD High

Definition Long Wear Illuminating Foundation, I purchased this from my local beauty supply store for $6.99. I found that it can be found online for around $9.99 in other places.

PRODUCT

This is marketed as an HD foundation which claims to be weightless, hydrating, long-wearing, illuminating and has medium to full coverage. It is also paraben free and has 28ml worth of product inside. It can only be used for 6 months after opening.

SHADE SELECTION

There are 15 shades in the collection and also a White which is a lightener to mix your foundation to find the perfect shade. I don't think the shade selection is amazing but if lightening some of the original shade will help, I do recommend purchasing it. I'm in the shade Coffee.

Decision

This has been my most reached for the foundation since it arrived on my doorstep. It is an 'illuminating' foundation, therefore, it is dewy and you need to set it with a powder no matter your skin type as it is sticky when you finish applying the foundation onto your skin. If you are an oily skin girl like me you need a mattifying cream/primer as a base to help control the 'dewiness'. The longevity of the foundation is great but I do need to blot around my t-zone area especially if I don't apply a mattifying primer/cream after 5/6 hours. I have noticed that it starts to separate on my forehead and around the nose area after 9 hours of wear since those are my problem areas - it is not noticeable unless you are at an extreme close up with somebody or the mirror. At the end of a working day, my face noticeably looks dewy and healthy but not greasy.

Overall

I really enjoy this foundation, I think it's great for this cold weather, I will continue to purchase this in the future since I really like the finish. I might pick up the shade White to use as a lightener for future foundations but it only last for 6 months which I think is due to the antioxidants to keep your skin hydrated so there is some disadvantage.
